The eBook “Enchanted Island of Yew” is a children's fantasy novel written by L Frank Baum and was first published in 1903. The first edition of this eBook actually contained eight color plates and was dedicated to Kenneth Gage Baum the author’s youngest son.
The original title of the work was “The Enchanted Island of Yew: Whereon Prince Marvel Encountered the High Ki of Twi and Other Surprising People”.
Yew is actually an undisclosed place in the Earth’s oceans. The story of “Enchanted Island of Yew” has a lot of similarity with the story of Wizard of Oz where he divides the kingdom in the story into four cardinal directions, each representing the four directions of the world and a central location which controls all of them.
The Island of Yew was influenced by Prince Silverwings and Other fairy tales work, where he used the Kwytoffe word. He intended to turn the book into a play but a Chicago theater fire downed the project.
